Omni PGA Hotel and Resort
Frisco, TX
Scope
Over 4.17 football fields of fleeceback roofing, 60,000 square feet of TPO, and 60,000 square feet of standing seam metal roof, spanning 16 architecturally unique buildings across 600 acres of resort and golf course development.
Project Overview
As Frisco’s premier luxury destination began taking shape, Anchor Roofing was brought in to handle one of the most logistically complex and technically demanding commercial roofing projects in our 30+ year history. The Omni PGA Hotel and Resort, designed as a flagship golf, hospitality, and lifestyle destination, presented not only massive scope, but also a project environment demanding high-level coordination, premium craftsmanship, and exacting safety standards.
Challenges
Mobilization began in November 2021, during the peak of COVID-era supply chain disruptions. Anchor Roofing faced 10+ month lead times on critical materials, including 1,000 squares of insulation and 2,200 squares of lightweight concrete, a reality that could have crippled any normal job schedule.
We overcame these delays through a three-pronged approach:
- Longstanding supplier relationships: We leaned into trusted partnerships developed over 30 years.
- Proactive inventory control: Our team executed precise forecasting and scheduling to keep materials flowing.
- Creative sourcing: We pulled supply from outside markets and leveraged unconventional channels to stay on track.
Execution
The Omni PGA site was composed of 16 individual structures, each with unique design elements, schedules, and trades in play. Anchor worked hand-in-hand with the design team, consultants, and MEP trade partners to navigate over 50 change orders and manage 1,600+ roof penetrations across the site.
Through it all, we implemented a site-specific safety plan and maintained our reputation for top-tier craftsmanship. Our team logged over 51,000 man-hours on the project, ensuring every phase of roofing installation met the highest standards of execution and safety.
Partnership Highlight
Anchor Roofing partnered with Texas Roof Management, Inc. to apply the lightweight insulated concrete system, which involved:
- 2,200 squares of Celcore Lightweight Concrete
- Over 1.3 million board feet of EPS by ThermaFoam LLC
- 730 tons of Portland cement (including 200 tons shipped from South Texas and 260,000 lbs of sacked Portland sourced through ABC)
This collaboration required on-the-fly adjustments due to statewide cement rationing during the pandemic. Through aligned client communication and flexible change orders, the team delivered this critical system on time, despite severe material constraints.
Outcome
Anchor Roofing is proud to have helped deliver a world-class hospitality and golf property to North Texas. The Omni PGA project stands as a testament to our ability to manage complexity, solve problems under pressure, and deliver precision craftsmanship on a large scale, on time and with zero compromise.
